The blue of Lake Oeschinen changes from green to gray to turquoise. Depending on the time of year or day, the 56-metre-deep and 1.14-square-kilometre mountain lake shows a different side.

Arrival
From Kandersteg, take the Oeschinensee cable car up the mountain and then walk 20 minutes to the lake. Or you can walk up from Kandersteg in around 60 minutes. www.oeschinensee.ch

Important notes
- Boats cannot be reserved
- Maximum 4 persons per boat
- Dogs are allowed
- The “Spitzer Stein” exclusion zone must be strictly observed (You cannot cross the yellow bays)
- Keep a distance of 150 meters from the rock faces (falling rocks) and the shore
- When the foghorn sounds, return to the jetty immediately
- Children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
- Children under the age of 12 must wear a lifejacket
